Their vow to wait was a huge statement, and it was a message and talking point to keep marriage equality relevant and discussed in the media. And for those saying don’t get upset, it’s just an engagement, they have clearly stated that it’s time for them to get married while discussing the news - meaning, their intention is to get married - not to hold out in engagement until gays can also marry. I’m happy for love coming together in the commitment of marriage, and I value all the monetary and vocal support that Brad and Angelina have given to the gay community throughout the years, and I especially don’t think people should have to wait to get married… but don’t make promises you can’t/won’t keep. It’s that simple. What do you guys think?
